GOD NOT ACTING LIKE WE WANT

1. _____________ IS GIVEN

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; he is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. Zechariah 9:9 (CSB)

2. GOD’S ________ IS DIFFERENT

Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel, which is translated "God is with us." Matthew 1:22–23 (CSB)

So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?" Acts 1:6 (CSB)

3. GOD’S _________ IS DIFFERENT

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25 (ESV)

WHAT TO DO WHEN GOD SAYS TO WAIT

1. SURRENDER ___________________

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your cares on him, because he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 (CSB)

2. RECOGNIZE _____________ & ________ THE COURSE

Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. Resist him, firm in the faith, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world. 1 Peter 5:8-9 (CSB)

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (ESV)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV)

3. TRUST GOD WILL _________ YOU THROUGH

The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little while. 1 Peter 5:10 (CSB)

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us. Romans 8:18 (CSB)

In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us, with unspoken groanings. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:26–28 (CSB)
