THE GOSPEL ROMANS

Romans 1:1-7

1. THE GOSPEL ______________ CAME                                             FOR AN ____________ PROBLEM

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, and set apart for the gospel of God— which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures—concerning his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was a descendant of David, according to the flesh and was appointed to be the powerful Son of God according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection of the dead. Romans 1:1–4 (CSB)

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:9-13 (ESV)

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2 (ESV)

2. THE GOSPEL IS ABOUT ________________ OF FAITH

Through him we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the Gentiles,, including you who are also called by Jesus Christ. Romans 1:5–6 (CSB)

According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you. 1 Peter 1:2 (ESV)

You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! James 2:19 (ESV)

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6 (ESV)

3. THE GOSPEL MEANS WE ARE _________

To all who are in Rome, loved by God, called as saints. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1:7 (CSB)

To the church of God at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called as saints, with all those in every place who call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord—both their Lord and ours.  1 Corinthians 1:2 (CSB)

Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, bearing this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his,, and let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness. 2 Timothy 2:19 (CSB)

My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:27–28 (CSB)
