Isaiah 9:6

Pastor Daniel Cassels

November 25, 2018
For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
1. THERE’S ALWAYS ___________ COUNSEL Now the serpent was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You can’t eat from any tree in the garden’?”  Genesis 3:1
How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. Psalm 1:1–2
A fool’s way is right in his own eyes, but whoever listens to counsel is wise. Proverbs 12:15
Better a poor person who lives with integrity than someone who has deceitful lips and is a fool. Even zeal is not good without knowledge, and the one who acts hastily sins. Proverbs 19:1–2
2. JESUS _____________ GOOD COUNSELS
 * _____ THE WORD
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
* _______________ THE WORD
For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
“Fellow Israelites, listen to these words: This Jesus of Nazareth was a man attested to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that God did among you through him, just as you yourselves know. Acts 2:22
 * ____________________ THE WORD
For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done for you. John 13:15
For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21
Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children, and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God. Ephesians 5:1–2
3. THE ____________ COUNSELS EVEN NOW And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you forever. John 14:16
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you. John 14:26
Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you. John 16:7
