A GRAFTED ATTITUDE

ROMANS

Romans 11:17-24

1. GRAFTING _______________ ON THE SOURCE

17 Now if some of the branches were broken off, and you, though a wild olive branch, were grafted in among them and have come to share in the rich root of the cultivated olive tree, 18 do not boast that you are better than those branches. But if you do boast—you do not sustain the root, but the root sustains you. Romans 11:17–18

2 Every branch in me that does not produce fruit he removes, and he prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit. John 15:2

22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know. We worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews. John 4:22

2. DON’T BE _______________ IN THIS GRAFTING

19 Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 True enough; they were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but beware,, 21 because if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. 22 Therefore, consider God’s kindness and severity: severity toward those who have fallen but God’s kindness toward you—if you remain in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. Romans 11:19–22
2 We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:2

12 At that time you were without Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world. Ephesians 2:12

3. GOD IS ________ TO REGRAFT

23 And even they, if they do not remain in unbelief, will be grafted in, because God has the power to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut off from your native wild olive tree and against nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these—the natural branches—be grafted into their own olive tree? Romans 11:23–24

26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  Matthew 19:26

15 Yet still today, whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts, 16 but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 2 Corinthians 3:15–16
